The quote that greets a person when searching for wedding information on their site is:
“Planning your perfect day should be nearly as exciting as the big day itself.”
When we climb into our car to photograph a wedding at Green Leaves I certainly do feel excited. The prospect of spending the day in between the mountains, exquisite sunsets, Tuscan architecture and my favourite… rows and rows of trees. It’s hard to pin point any part of the venue that is not exquisite.
I almost get nostalgic, being someone who loves Cape Town, this place makes me feel like I am there.
The Bridal Suites all have the interior décor a person would expect to find in a modern, romantic setting.
As a photographer this helps immensely with options for the perfect shot and even if your shooting photo journalistic you don’t have to worry about any part of the background spoiling that special unrehearsed moment you capture. Doing detail shots of the ring, shoes, garter, etc. with a bit of creativity is easily accomplished with the many décor elements available.
Both chapels are romantically lit, with natural light and the most beautiful chandeliers, this certainly sets the right mood for the ceremony. This is unfortunately not the most ideal light to shoot in, the high ceilings adding to the difficulty. Make sure your photographer can shoot in low light environments without blasting you with a flash.
For the creative shoot there are so many options to choose from, allot of hidden gems! It certainly helps if your photographer has shot at the venue before. Our favourite is the rows and rows of trees in the plantation at the bottom of the venue, the lawns at the lodge and the pillars of the Tuscan venue. These are just a few of the options and if you have enough time to move around there is a lot more options to consider.
The venue’s charm also doesn’t get lost in the seasonal change; each season has its unique enticement. Both reception halls are spacious and beautiful. The food, of the highest standard. Bathrooms, always clean and usable throughout the night.
The perfect picture from every angle.
