There’s a craze overseas that still hasn’t caught on much in South Africa, “senior sessions” which are not meant for the “old age home”, but rather for the seniors at High School, finishing their last year of school. It’s such a momentous moment in their lives, the next step to adulthood. Senior Sessions were created to capture each students individual personality.

The norm in South Africa is for parents to invest mostly on a students matric ball and getting a professional photographer for this. However, I find this to be more of an “occasion” and “formal” photography moment, rather than focussing on their personality, what they love and things they have accomplished in their lives thus far.

Maybe as an alternative, this should be converted to a sweet sixteen session?  Then at least it won’t break the budget in the matric year…

Clarice and Sune are High School friends and from E.G. Jansen, in Boksburg. We focussed on their friendship, individual hobbies, free spirited personality and love of horses, with a hippy twist. I just love how their personalities shine through.
